Kokum Butter is obtained from the fruit kernels of the Indian kokum tree (Garcinia indica). Our kokum butter is cold-pressed and unrefined, extracted without the use of chemical solvents to preserve its natural fatty-acid profile. It naturally has a white to off-white appearance with a very mild, neutral scent, making it well-suited for cosmetics and personal-care formulations.

The butter has a uniform triglyceride composition, consisting of up to 80% stearic-oleic-stearic (SOS) triglycerides. It remains solid at room temperature, melts readily upon contact with the skin, and is recognized as one of the hardest and most stable vegetable butters available. Its low free-fatty-acid content indicates excellent stability and an absence of aggressive lipolytic activity.

For quality and cleanliness, the butter may be gently melted and filtered to remove natural impurities, without deodorization, bleaching, or chemical refining. This process does not alter the butter’s natural structure or performance.

Suggested Uses
Creams, lotions, body butters, lip balms, makeup foundations, bar soaps, whipped butters, and other cosmetic formulations.
